About the role :
Get onboard of the PayFit rocket by joining our Data Engineer Team as a Data Engineering Manager. You will :
- Design and oversee the development of scalable and efficient data pipelines and architectures to support business needs.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of data systems, implementing best practices for data storage, retrieval, and processing.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure data practices align with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Implement data cataloging and metadata management solutions to enhance data discoverability and usability.
- Manage each team member operationally and individually (OKR definition, annual review, make people grow).
- Build and maintain workflows to help the team deliver while ensuring data quality, reliability and availability in the production.
- Work with your peers in the data team to evangelize data best practices, identify needs and contribute to our data strategy and roadmap.
- Kick start Global Data Governance @ PayFit with set up of a Meta Data Catalog
This role is for you if :
- You have previous experience managing and growing a team of data engineers.
- You have experience in setting up Data Governance in a company
- You architect maintainable, efficient and high-quality data systems: CI and CD, design and scoping, component (re)usability and interoperability, code refactoring, documentation... are not extraneous for you.
- Design and drive complex architectural decisions across teams.
- You are receptive to feedback, to be mentored and mentor: we’re caring and make sure that everyone can grow. You will be empowered. You will empower others.
- You stick to a team spirit and share mindset “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
- You speak english fluently and you want to work in an international and dynamic environment.
- You have profound knowledge of Airflow, python, SQL, Github, AWS, etc.

Your future team :
At the Data Tribe at PayFit (15 people), we are currently improving our cloud-based data platform to unlock the full potential of our data, bringing the platform to the next level to empower self-service analytics at a high pace on a strong foundational base, with tools that are currently top tier in the data ecosystem (Airbyte, Airflow, Snowflake).
Data Engineering team is composed of 4 people (including you), and together with our analytic teams, you will contribute to unlocking the full potential of our data.
All team members are international and fully dispatched between Spain & France (hybrid remote policies).
Interview process :

2) Interview with Maxime (VP Data) and Olivier (Analytics Engineering Manager) - 60min
3) Technical assessment - 60min
4) Meet Sylvain, our CPO - 30min
